    @oldfart4751 i guess we can argue this back and forth, but i know for me, it doesn’t have to be in a specific meter to have an emotional impact on me…it just comes down to the individuals preference

    @r3v9191 I think …
    @r3v9191 I think yes he came in 1 beat late after a pause, but this is being picky my friend, don’t forget this is live music and all the greats make the occasional mistake, this is acceptable if you love live music like I do. Most of the audience are not musicians therefore probably did not pick it up.

    @oldfart4751 well, …
    @oldfart4751 well, Stevie wasn’t in time at the beginning per se, and that was the best part of the whole song for me!!!

  5. oldfart4751 Says:

    @r3v9191 How can …
    @r3v9191 How can music be emotional if not in time, that’s the hallmark of great musicians is timing, and it takes a great musician to put over emotion. So basically your talking shite! Stevie probably the best at putting over emotion.

    Oh my goodness I’m …
    Oh my goodness I’m done with this conversation. Stevie is my second favorite musician. You guys win. I don’t think he’s a bad musician. I never did… You just made it seem like that’s what i said. I spent a whole day reading about Stevie. He’s amazing! He is my favorite guitar player right with John Mayer (who happens to love Stevie)

  7. r3v9191 Says:

    @Cbluesrocker so …
    @Cbluesrocker so what? do you think that that really matters much? for me, if someone plays something that is so emotional that it reaches me, then it doesn’t matter if it was “in time” or not…emotion doesn’t take place within a certain time…it transends all that other crud

    @jacopman …
    @jacopman Completely agree. I can remember where I was sitting I heard the news of his death. Saw the tour with Jeff Beck and couldn’t believe that two guys could be more different in style. Impossible to pick the winner of that duel at the crossroads! Quick Italian lesson : ) a “glissando” is a cascade of notes. Plural is “glissandi” Cool to bring these terms into listening to rock and blues!

    @Cbluesrocker …
    @Cbluesrocker Tehnical guitar playing is not that. Tehnical stuff is about tone, it can be about rhythm and soloing, about keeping a tempo as you said and Stevie did that, about the sound, tehniques a person use and Stevie did use many tehniques, and yes, Stevie knew in what key he was doing a song. He couldn’t read music, but he knew in what key he was doing some song.

  19. grga888 Says:

    @Cbluesrocker A bad …
    @Cbluesrocker A bad? Hahaha… You must be on crack or something like that. The guy knew no notes, he couldn’t read music, but that does not mean that he was a bad tehnical player. He was one of the best tehnically skilled guitar players when it came to rock and roll and blues. His tehnique and style is one of the hardest to replicate, his style is definetelly a challenge to copy, and as I said, he was a mighty tehnical guitar player with loads of soul and heard. A fact.

  25. LennyMocambo Says:

    @Cbluesrocker and …
    @Cbluesrocker and just to add, do you even know what being technical good on a guitar means? or are you just here to make it seem like you know what your talking about by giving him props by being the greatest blues shuffle guitarist….but not technically good according to professors at major colleges.
