I am thinking about going next month around the 10th-14th. I was wondering how the weather and crowds usually is around this time. I know the kids won’t be back in school at this time yet, but I figured everyone has already gone by then and there would be less people, right? How about the weather? Is it summer time weather, like hot and humid, or is is some what cooler in florida mid august?

No, it is no cooler. It is still at the height of the most miserable weather of the year – super hot, super humid.

As far as crowds, August is a little better than July, but the crowds generally don’t start clearing out quite that early. The last two weeks of August are historically much better, but the first couple weeks are still peak season.

I have no idea when this building was constructed, but from kclibrary.com:

"This building was occupied by old American Hereford Association from 1919 to 1953.

After the Hereford people moved from the building pictured to new quarters on Hereford Drive, the Ararat Shrine used the building for many years. Today’s occupant is Financial Assurance Inc. The structure is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as "a contributing structure in the West 11th Street historic district."

Fourteenth Street, as it continues east, becomes a vibrant, important thoroughfare all the way down to Fremont (parts of it are called either International or Mission Blvd). Fourteenth Street downtown, however, is a total failure of an urban destination. The building next to the Financial Center building has no retail along the 14th St side (it’s a Walgreens on Broadway), and then the next block is a parking structure. It’s disappointing that more people don’t get to patronize the few shops in this lovely, terra cotta Art Deco building.

I want to become a news anchor. I have the looks, talent, and willpower, but I need to know what else I can do to be successful. I don’t necessarily want to become famous, but I would like to support myself adequately. What can I do to assure success, and how long will I have to work to become a news anchor?

You have to be very competitive and good at doing stuff fast. Being able to quickly do a story and be articulate. Be able to interview people well and make them feel important when you interview them. You will most likely be a reporter before you be an anchor. A lot of it is luck too so GOOD LUCK!!!
