Just bought this D250-1Br. It is my second netbook to replace the old original Acer Aspire One 8GB SSD model. While at the store, I requested to check the unit for dead pixels etc. and thankfully found none. Made this video when I got home.
The battery took about 1.5-2 hours to charge to 100% and with wifi on and brightness at lowest, Windows indicates a 6 hour battery life. When playing one of the included demo (platform style) games in Acer Arcade, the battery meter goes down to just 3 hours. I’d be very happy if I can get 6 hours tops on this thing when surfing the web and doing some light work in Open Office.
What’s in the box:
All the normal warranty stuff, quick start guides, 6 cell battery, red AOD250, power adapter and cables and a soft case. The netbook with its 6 cell battery fits nicely into the soft case as shown in the video.
- NO restore or software CD, the user is advised to create restore CDs upon initial use but an external CD/DVD burner is required.
The store also included a bunch of cheapo free stuff with every notebook purchase such as a cooling pad, notebook lock, USB mouse, LCD cleaning kit etc.
Apparently the unit has been checked and set up by the dealer with AVG installed and store-specific warranty stickers stuck on the unit. This is a common practice here in Malaysia and is also why we can ask to check for dead pixels before paying the cash.
So far everything works out of the box. I’ve tried the bluetooth, which took a few seconds to install (drivers and configuration) as it was turned on for the first time. I transfered photos from my mobile to the AOD250 via BT and it worked seamlessly. One of my biggest gripe with the old one was the trackpad which was a pain to use. The trackpad on this one is much nicer and smoother.
My unit comes with Windows XP Home, Microsoft Works and a 60 day trial of Office 2007.
Overall, I am glad I got this instead of the 751 which I was also considering. The size is just perfect for taking on the road or on holiday. It is an improvement in leaps and bounds compared to my old A110, feels much faster and more responsive.

I am not able to find that same date in previous years on the farmers almanac. I just wanted to know how the weather was in 2006,2007 and 2008 for July 15, 2000 for Jackson, New jersey. I am planning a trip to six flags great adventure.
if you go to yahoo weather or whatever site you use. you can get an
extended forecast that will give you the weather for the next ten days.
about a week before you go look up the weather for the city your
going to and it will tell you. or you can go to noaa.gov for weather info.
